This day, on July 22, 2013 I went with some friends to see the Burj Khalifa. This is the tallest building in the world. It stands at about 2,722 feet tall. Every New Year's Eve there is a spectacular Fountain and Firework Display. I have sent you a link here. I was not lucky enough to see it this last 2013, but hope to attend for the 2014 Celebration.

This little lake is at the base of the Burj Khalifa. On the right adjacent side of the lake is the Dubai Mall, the largest Mall in the Middle East, along with the left adjacent side of the lake, the famous Dubai Souq Mall. Here are a couple of pictures of me next to the Mall, the Burj, and Lake during this last Ramadan. Outside it is near sunset, or Iftar, the break of the fast for Muslims all over the UAE.
Many from America don't realize how seriously Ramadan is taken here. But it is country law that there is no public eating allowed during the hours of Sunrise to Sunset. Thus, restaurants don't even open here during the Holy Month of Ramadan until Sunset.
